SOMAS cryogenic valves - customized for low temperatures
What is the definition of cryogenic conditions? Cryogenic conditions occur when the temperature is lower than 120 degrees Kelvin (-153,15 °C). SOMAS supplies valves adapted for cryogenic conditions. We have adapted and modified our ball segment valves and butterfly valves to be able to operate under these extremely low tempereatures.
A great advantage of our cryogenic valves is their excellent ability to prevent icing of the bonnet and stuffing box, since they are fitted with an extended bonnet and the stuffing box is located on top. The cryogenic valves are also fitted with a metal or fibreglass seat. This further improves the functionality and performance of the valve.
